My world lit classes have just finished reading Heart of Darkness. Discussions started off pretty slowly, but as we neared the end of the book, they became more and more engaged. It's fascinating, in a way, but I suppose that it's also entirely predictable: the pace of discussion has almost exactly mirrored the pace of the narrative.

Also, I'm about 450 pages into 1Q84. Or maybe something like 500. In any case, a little over halfway.
So far, I find it intriguing.
Here's a line that sticks with me:
There is nothing in this world that never takes a step outside a person's heart.

If you haven't watched Shawn Achor's talk "The Happy Secret To Better Work" on TED, I recommend it.

The weather today is amazing. I ran eight with Tyler and Susan, and I can't remember better weather for a morning run.
