There's a poem of mine included today at Whale Sound, the excellent online audio project of Nic Sebastian. The poem is "Where It's Likely To Go Better," which was recently published in Justin Evans's journal, Hobble Creek Review.
I'm very grateful to Nic for including my work in this project, and also fascinated, listening to her reading of the poem. For me, the writing process often involves a great deal of reading aloud, thinking about the cadence, the rhythm of the lines, so it's interesting (and quite wonderful) to hear what she's done with it.
(My apologies to Roger Rosenblatt, of course, who told a group of us a couple of weeks ago that a writer should not think about the sound of the words. I respectfully disagree.)
