The News Today

I turned on the news this morning on the drive in to work, NPR's Morning Edition, to hear a story about the drug war in Mexico.

For a minute, I was engaged.

But then I found myself wondering, Why am I listening to this? How will this inform whatever decisions I'll make today?

Or to frame the question more precisely: Is this news or entertainment?

So I pressed the button and enjoyed a bit of Conor Oberst's Cassadaga during the rest of my drive.
